Start Measuring What Matters and Grow Faster Than Ever!

Growing up one of my closest friends was the most beautiful, talented gymnast I have ever known. She was lovely to watch as she flew through the air tumbling away and smiling ear to ear with the joy of the sport. She was good-really good. Her dream was to simply to be allowed her moment in the spotlight where her star could shine bright.

Unfortunately, her moment never came. It was stolen from her by Dream stealers who relentlessly cast doubt on her abilities and seemed to take pleasure more in her flaws than her fantastic talents. She couldn’t withstand the onslaught of doubt and negativity. She gave up on her dream and faded into the background letting someone less talented but more boldly sef assured have the moment in the spotlight that was meant for her.

Maybe, just like my friend you have also suffered the theft of your deepest truest dreams. And also, perhaps, like my friend, you did not recognize these thieves for who they were. Dream stealers are individuals who try to hinder or sabotage goals and aspirations. They may even be well-meaning people who are concerned about your welfare. Often, however, they are individuals who are envious of your success. Whatever their reasons may be, dream stealers can be demotivating and discouraging. It is important to know how to deal with these people in order to protect your dreams and achieve your goals. The first step in dealing with dream stealers is to know how to identify them. Dream stealers can be anyone, from family members to colleagues to friends or even strangers. It is essential to be aware of those individuals who not only are not supportive of your dreams but seem focused on crushing them. Once you have identified them, you need to filter their opinions and comments by detaching from triggered emotions. Are they valid points that contain seeds for growth or simply negative remarks designed to sink your dream boat?

The second step is to take a step back from these individuals. If you find that they are not a supporter providing insights and encouragement for your goals, it is best to avoid discussing your dreams with them. You can limit your interactions with them or cut them out of your life entirely. It may be difficult to distance yourself from family members or close friends, but you don’t have to share details about your dreams that are important to you. Practice a need-to-know policy. Only share what others need to know. Dreams and the activities of achieving them should not be sacrificed for the sake of others who don’t show their support and care.

The third step is to build a support system. It is crucial to have people around you who support your dreams and encourage you to pursue them. This can be family members, friends, mentors, or even online communities. Having a support system can help you stay motivated and focused on your goals, despite the negativity that may come your way.

The fourth step is to believe in yourself. You must have confidence in your abilities and believe that you can achieve your goals, even in the face of adversity. Confidence is a muscle that can be strengthened. It is important to remember that your dreams are valid and worthwhile. Do not give anyone the power to steal them from you.

The fifth step is to stay focused on your goals. It is easy to get sidetracked by negative comments or setbacks, but it is important to keep your eyes on the prize. Focus on your long-term goals and take small steps every day to get closer to achieving them. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and keep moving forward.

Unfortunately, Dream stealers are all around most of us. If we let them, they can be a hindrance to goals and aspirations. However, with the right mindset and approach, you can overcome them. It is essential to identify dream stealers, distance yourself from them, build a support system, believe in yourself, and stay focused on your goals. Remember that your dreams are important and worth pursuing, and no one has the power to steal them from you.
